The best of times, the worst of times...

Dear Missionary Disciples,

You may believe these are the worst of times or the best of times; it depends on what you consider essential. There have always been troubles in our world, and as far as I can tell, there always will.

My simple thought is to live in Jesus Christ. How? By staying in constant contact with our Lord in the Sacraments of the Eucharist and Reconciliation. Developing or continuing a daily prayer life is not just necessary, but a discipline that will keep you spiritually focused. Following Jesus Christ's teaching through His/our Catholic Church is essential. Remember, your goal is to share in the divine life of the Trinity for all eternity, whatever the cost.

Sometimes people are looking for a reason to be angry or offended. Sometimes we live in the country of anger at the capital city of:
"People do not act, believe, or speak in the way I expect."

The following is an excerpt from St. Paul to the Ephesians 4:30 - 32.

"Brothers and sisters: Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with which you were sealed for the day of redemption. All        bitterness, fury, anger, shouting, and reviling must be removed from you, along with all malice, and be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving one another, as God has forgiven you in Christ."

In Jesus Christ,

Father Maassen
