Such a GIFT...

Dear Missionary Disciples of Jesus Christ,

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is such a gift. Jesus Christ gave us the sacrament because His desire is for communion with us, that we might know the joy and salvation he longs to give us. I would encourage you to make this a regular practice of your life of discipleship and mission. If you note the bulletin, there are several opportunities for the Sacrament. We are moving the scheduled time for the Sacrament of Reconciliation on Sunday at St Francis Borgia from after the 9:00 am Source and Summit to after the 7:00 am Mass. As a reminder, you can schedule a time with any priest as well. (Catechism paragraphs needed)

Catechism of the Catholic Church 1457

“According to the Church's command, "after having attained the age of discretion, each of the faithful is bound by an obligation faithfully to confess serious sins at least once a year." Anyone who is aware of having committed a mortal sin must not receive Holy Communion, even if he experiences deep contrition, without having first received sacramental absolution, unless he has a grave reason for receiving Communion and there is no possibility of going to confession. Children must go to the sacrament of Penance before receiving Holy Communion for the first time.”

The Women's ACTS retreat is coming up. I highly highly recommend participating in this retreat, especially if you're a mom with elementary-age children. This is much more important than sports, etc.. For some retreatants, it becomes a life-changing experience and an encounter for the better. This retreat was brought to St Francis for your benefit. Our most important relationship is with the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit. When this relationship is healthy, then everything else becomes better. You can become a better spouse, a better mother, a better friend. Please prayerfully consider attending this retreat.

In Christ Fr. M
